John VecheyThe co-founder and vice president of corporate strategy and development of PopCap Games, Inc. In 2011, PopCap was sold to Electronic Arts for $750M in cash and stock. When John Vechey was young, his parents were divorced. He lived with his mom at first, and then moved to Indiana to live with his dad. He went to Purdue University and decided to be a computer engineer. In 1997, John Vechey dropped out of Purdue University with GPA 1.67 to work on a game with his friend Brian Fiete. In 2000, he started a game company, PopCap, with Brian Fiete and Jason Kapalka. In July 2011 Electronic Arts acquired the PopCap for $750M. What Suprised meJohn Vechey’s parents were divorced and he still was able to go to Purdue University. Another surprise is that his GPA in college was only 1.67; (no offense intended) he must have spent all of his time to create games. Website: www.popcap.com |
