David Karp
David Karp was a high school drop-out and the founder of Tumblr, a blogging platform that uses quick, mixed media posts. He was named as one of the top 35 innovators in the world under the age 35 in 2010.
David Karp was born in 1986 in New York City. At age 14, David Karp started to intern for animation producer Fred Seibert, and from there he went to work for UrbanBaby as a software consultant. At age 20, he began to work on Tumblr to develop a blogging platform. In the next year (2007) he launched Tumblr. Tumblr is beloved by its users for its clean interface, ease of use and its community elements. By January 2008, Tumblr had over 170,000 registered users. By early 2010, Tumblr was getting 15,000 new users and over 2 million posts daily. In September 2011, Tumblr was worth over $800 million. What surprised me:
David Karp started to work as an intern at the age 14 and when he was 20 years old, he started to work on the blogging platform and built it successfully the next year.
